Day 155

February 5, 2010

Did you read my post below my pictures? The pictures were not my post for the day. The post below is the one for yesterday! Some didn't realize this, so I just want to tell you to read the post following all of the fun photos! The M&M things is cool, huh? It's really fun! First of all, the M&M Store is two or three stories tall, full of fun, color, entertainment, etc. It's right in Times Square! This machine is in the middle of the room, on the second floor. You step onto the simulated foot pedals and it starts talking to you. It made me do the hokey pokey before it read my color! ;) It was fun! They have every color M&M you could think of!!! And the christmas tree...forget about it! Pictures don't do it justice! It's beautiful!! Not to mention, the lights are as big as my head!

Side note: As I was looking at M&M's website, I saw that you can personalize M&Ms for Valentine's Day! How cute is this?? I recommend this over flowers, or a box of chocolate, or a store bought card! Any one can buy those things! You can put your guys' favorite quotes you always say to each other on there! Check it out! Ugh...if I only had someone to get this stuff for me. Or, if I had someone to buy them for...that would appreciate them! They're a bit expensive, but totally worth it--so much fun!

What's the first thing you think about in the morning? It varies from day to day, I'm guessing. Well, this morning, my first thought was: whoever made the alarm clock is a genius! Weird, I know. My following thought: I do NOT want to get out of bed yet! If it wasn't for my alarm clock, I would have probably not woke up today. I actually need to invest in a real alarm clock and not rely on my phone.

Speaking of my phone. Lately, I feel like all I do is yell at the stupid thing! I'm walking down the street, holding the phone out in front of my face, yelling at it! I don't get missed calls, nor do I sometimes not receive text messages. The best is when I'm talking to someone on the phone and it hangs up on me. Nice. My advice, ONCE again: never get AT&T! They just suck something awful!

My sweet tooth got the best of me again today! First of all, lately I've been craving a cheeseburger and fries! So, for lunch I get one! BUT! I get a turkey burger, to be a bit more healthier! Nice, huh?! ;) Yes, I did get fries, which didn't help, but I figured the turkey made up for it a little bit! Then on the way home, I stop by The Little Pie Company to get the best red velvet cupcake ever! Mmm...it's so good!!!! It's right up the street from my apartment! They have the best stuff!

I think I'm officially dubbing Friday as dance party night! Tonight, it's kind of a mom, dance party night for me. I'm by myself, deep-cleaning my apartment, and dancing to early 2000's songs! ;)The rest of the weekend is going to be busy, so one night in will do me some good!

Have you heard of Ibiza? If not, apparently it's a great "hot spot." I feel like I've been hearing about it all the time lately! It looks like a blast! Check out their website!

Fashion Week's coming up! Next week starts clothing mayhem! I'm debating on whether I want to stand outside again and see more movie stars. I really want to, but it's so cold outside! Which, by the way, I guess we're suppose to be getting snow. They said it was going to start today...nothing yet. I even wore my rain boots to work today, just in case! Watch...it will snow like a mother tomorrow, since I will be outside, walking around. Damn.

The rest of my evening is going to be spent in my bed, watching a movie, and hopefully getting to bed at a decent time. I just thought about this. My Friday nights are like most people's Tuesday or Wednesday nights. Nice and quiet, with not a whole lot going on. Maybe a Monday, or something. My week's always crazy, so Friday is a night relaxer day!

Note to self: Watch "The Hangover." I know everyone who's awesome has seen it, but watch it again! It's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. My neighbor e-mailed me tonight and told me they were watching it. So, I decided to YouTube some of my favorite scenes in the movie! Enjoy! ;)

Day 7

September 13, 2009

Today is a total tourist day for me. The rain finally stopped and the sun is shining! I want to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather. My original plan was to stop by Bryant Park for Fashion Week, then head to Central Park, and go curtain shopping for the new digs.

I'm actually staying at Bryant Park--I keep seeing celebrities everywhere. I'm star struck! I can't just leave! I see Hilary Duff, Amanda Bynes, Mischa Barton, Estelle, the Gossip Girls, and Marisa Miller. I got right next to them!

It is interesting to see their different personalities. Amanda Bynes and Marisa Miller were the nicest and most crowd friendly. Michelle Trachtenberg, a Gossip Girl, was, let's face it, a bitch. Sorry, but check your ego at the black Escalade that dropped you off. The "Wow, these people are gonna die," comment is not necessary. (She was referring to the paparazzi crowding around her).

While standing around, paparazzi style, I snag a few freebies--some cookies, that I wanted to feed to the models; a pair of "Cool Contours"--the new Spanx; and some fashion mags. I have never seen women this skinny in my life. Funny thing is an elderly lady from the Ukraine asked if I was one of the models for Fashion Week. Sweet thought, but my size four ass is way too overweight for this industries liking. ;)

I then head to Radio City Music Hall where the VMA's are taking place. I only see Sean Paul--after about an hour and a half, I realize I'm not going to see with my angle, so I leave. My feet were so sore from being on them all day--paparazzi is tough work! ;)

During the VMA's...really Kanye? Who does that? He needs to seriously check his ego. Arrogance is so irritating. Do these people not remember where they came from? Oh yeah, nothing. Maybe someone should remind them of that. I like Taylor Swift.

The Green Bay vs. Bears game was awesome! Favorite quote from the night, "That makes me want to get a massage!" from the two-point conversion play. Haha! Then the night ends with "True Blood." For those who have not seen it, it's wierd. Way too bloody for my liking.

Note to self: Any man that can dance can call me anytime! There is nothing more attractive than a man with a nice body that knows how to work it. The M.J. tribute on the VMA's proves my point. It's like a trance--you can't stop staring and you only wish he was coming home to you. Someday.......someday. Like I always say, wishes do come true and prayers are answered. ;)

Day 5

September 11, 2009

As the city paid tribute to the tragedy of 9-11-01 and Fashion Week continues to be all the rave here, my day did not start off well. I know I'm posting a day late, but let me tell ya'...

I woke up to rain...and I mean lots of rain! It was probably not the best day to venture out and look for jobs! But it has to be done! As I leave, I realize my umbrella is broken. I go buy another one from a convenient store next to the apartment. $7 later I leave...only to find out that the fierce wind is bound and determined to break the damn thing! You should have seen it--blowing and turning the umbrella inside out; coming off of the hooks--it was a mess. But all I did was laugh at myself (and cuss to myself, somewhat out loud). =)

Job hunting is NO fun! But I did get an interview at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company and Planet Hollywood in Times Square! So, that's exciting! And...I signed my lease today!!! Yay!!! Move in date is set for September 16th!!!! My apartment building is so awesome and the staff could not be better to work with!!! And...thanks to my broker for accidentally finding the place for me!!

The day only got better when I found a place, close to my new apartment, that makes BBQ Chicken Pizza. My favorite!!! Probably the best BBQ Chicken I've ever had. The sauce is amazing!! It's called Two Boots Pizza--a cute little shop with wildly painted windows and a great chocolate chip cookie! ;)

On a Friday, why not go out? It's my first weekend in NYC! It's a must! We go to a bar in Midtown East only to be surrounded by the "frat boy" type. Hey, I'm not complaining! ;) It was fun! Good music, cheap drinks! After getting MORE pizza and some garlic rolls, I go to bed!

Note to self: Even though umbrellas can be expensive, pay the extra money for a good one. The cheap ones cause nothing but problems. You know this when people are staring and smirking at you because you are spending more time trying to fix the umbrella then it is serving its purpose. But you have to learn to laugh at yourself. In a situation like this, you will look like a bigger ass being serious about the situation, then laughing at yourself and how ridiculous it is that Muhammad sold you a janky umbrella.

Day 4

September 10, 2009

It is a musical medley walking the streets of NYC today. People singing outloud are flooding the busy sidewalks, whether they have the beats of their iPod, or simply their own two hands and feet beating against the pavement. I love it!

I am having a pretty uneventful day today. I went to work and wrote more articles--check them out under www.joonbug.com-- GLAMdamnit. They are mostly about Fashion Week taking place in NYC this week! So much fun! I love this internship!

And...I get to move into my apartment even earlier than expected! Yes! September 16, 2009! Oh yeah... it's in Hell's Kitchen...sounds exciting huh? That's because it is! The area is full of bars, restaurants, delis, etc.; and pretty much everyone in the area is around my age, which makes it that much better! And I'm only a couple blocks from friends!

I come back to the apartment and just relax and start applying for part-time jobs. I need one ASAP! The city gets expensive real quick! I ate a veggie sandwich with hummus for lunch, that I think made me sick, so Val and I watched TV--Grey's Anatomy, to be specific. Love this show! Now it's time for bed...I need to rest up for a fun-filled day of dropping off my resumes at potential jobs!

Note to self: Sometimes believing a quote from a sitcom is not as corny as it sounds. Tonight, Izzy said something along the lines of, you never know when it's going to be the biggest day of your life. This is so true. You never do. Everyday could seem like the biggest day of your life. Just learn how to deal with it and embrace it! These "biggest days of our lives" are what make life exciting and shape how our lives come to pan out.
