You know when you're packing and you think you've finally finished, you find more crap stored in a secret hiding place? I'm telling you what. I cannot wait! to get to Florida in two weeks! I'm ready for all of these boxes to be packed and shipped home and my booty on the plane to Boca!
So, I'm in the elevator, on the way home, and I'm carrying a rather large box. An older gentlemen in the elevator keeps making comments to me about it. Sir, it's a box. He says, "Well, maybe you should break it down." Maybe I should. But then that means more work for me when I get home. Plus more packing tape. Do you know how much packing tape costs out here? It's $7.50 for ONE roll! One roll! I'm not going to break down a box and have to waste tape at this price! Are you kidding me?!
Then he proceeds to tell me that instead of the clear packing tape, I should use Scotch tape. Because clearly that's going to hold the boxes sturdy, full of my breakable things. What?! Sir, Scotch tape can barely hold two pieces of paper together! I think it's about time the advice giving stops. I'll consider it, but I'm skeptical!
Well, that's the extent of my exciting evening. I have a big week and a half ahead of me, full of hanging out with my friends before I leave. (Tear.) So, it's a quiet night in the apartment.
Note to self: "The real person you are is revealed when you are certain no other person is watching. When no one is watching, you are driven by what you expect of yourself. Think about what it is you expect from yourself and live it. No excuses, no exceptions!"
Do you ever notice when other people aren't around, you're more confident in yourself and your decision making? I feel like this a lot at work! You have to be strong and confident all of the time! Because with confidence, comes trust from others. When you are confident and trust in yourself, others will follow. It's like follow the leader! Confidence creates positive energy, which creates positive results! Go for it and aim high!
