So, this last weekend was a blast! It was my best friend's bachelorette party and I got see my family, that I haven't seen since Christmas! Only problem: the weather. What happened to Iowa's 80 degree weather you guys were bragging about? Hmmm? Thanks for the 60 degrees and wind. I much appreciated it. ;)
Mom and I left for Orlando, Thursday night because my plane left really early in the morning, so we spent the night. Our hotel was really nice and really cheap! Our toilet paper was tied in a bow! Ha! Check it out!
We leave Friday morning and we're on different flights, so we go our separate ways. Surprisingly, nothing exciting happened to either of us at the airport.
I get home and Brett and grandma are waiting for me! They look fantastic! It was nice to be back in Iowa for a while. It was different this time, though, because like I've said, Boca is pretty much identical to Des Moines. Except, I have palm trees and great weather. Other than that, it's basically the same. It's great! Of course, when Brett and I get together, the mayhem doesn't wait to begin. Our sarcastic remarks started right away. Poor grandma, has to deal with us!
I got my hair cut! Yay! It looked like a jungle! After my hair cut, I leave for the mall, to meet Maddie. We went shopping at Jordan Creek for a dress for her party. She found one and it was so cute! I always forget how ridiculous some teenagers are. I never remember going to the mall on a Friday night and just "hanging out." And these kids are out of control. They're what? Fifteen years old, and they say the F-word every two seconds. Yes, tween, you're making yourself look awful. Not only is your mouth moving too much, your skinny jeans should be returned to the girl's department, and you should get men's jeans that don't show your tiny, 15-year-old friends downstairs! ;)
Then, we go to Hu Hot! Mmm...I love that place! It's always packed! No matter what time of day you go, they always have a wait! I should open one down here! I heard they're getting one in Ankeny. That's awesome! Ankeny is a growing machine. Pretty soon, all they're going to need is a mall, and no one in that town will ever have to leave. I'm just curious how the sports program is going to turn out with the splitting of the high schools. I know people aren't happy about it, but I think it's a good thing. Now, maybe the kids who are just as good, but don't have daddy's name or pocketbook, will get a chance to shine!
Saturday morning, we go to breakfast with my cousin's baby! He's so cute! We call him, "crazy animal." He just laughs! So much fun! We take him to McDonald's to play in the Playplace. I think I was more excited! So, we get there and he is obviously instantly drawn to the toys! I tell ya' what. Those plastic tubes are hard as all get out to get through! When they say, "For kids only 3-12 years of age," they're not lyin'! It was hard! Caleb loved it, though! He was laughing, blabbin', and running all over!
Then, there was one of those kids there, who asked, "Why?" all the time! She was so irritating! She asked me, "Are you his mom?"
Me: "No."
Her: "Why?"
Me: "It just worked out that way."
Her: "Why?"
Me: "Umm....it just did." What do you say to that? I don't know, kid. Leave me alone.
Her: "Are you his grandma?"
Okay, you little brat. "No."
Her: "Aren't you too big to go down the slide?"
I just stare at her. No, you little twit, but if you don't shut-up, I will throw you down the slide. ;)
Me: "No. I think you need to go play down there."
Then, she proceeds to follow me around and keeps talking. You are the devil child, and you need to get away from me. Some kids.
Then, the whole time we have him, he doesn't cry. The second my cousin and his girlfriend walk in, I accidentally push Caleb up the slide too hard, and he hit his lip on the slide, and starts to whale! Of course! Now, I look like a bad babysitter!
I got to hang out with grandma a little on Saturday afternoon. It was nice! She gives the best back rubs and I needed one!
Saturday night. What can I say? It was so much fun! I haven't been dancing in forever, and this is just what the doctor ordered! We went to Uncle Bucks, Heroes, and Liar's Club. It was great! Maddie had a great time! She doesn't remember much, but all that matters is, she remembers it was fantastic! ;) She texts me today and tells me she has a bruise on her face. Funny, because I have a mondo bruise on my thigh. Maybe it could be from the time we fell in the middle of Liar's Club! The only two girls wearing dresses, and we fall on the floor. Great. I'm just tossing that idea out there.
And it's a bachelorette party, so you know we had a good time! ;) The wedding is going to be so much fun!
Sunday morning was awful. My mom said something about a catastrophe, and I said, I felt like a catastrophe. Thank goodness my flight was direct! It was no fun. And the three hour drive back to Boca sucked. It was raining and windy. Blah.
It was weird coming back here by myself. This is my first night alone in my apartment. It was nice to be alone and relax a little bit, but I also enjoyed my company the last two weeks! I'm slightly nervous to sleep alone tonight, though. I've already decided, I'm sleeping on my couch because my TV is in my living room. For a bit, I'm going to need sound. Just until I get comfortable with my surroundings.

Note to self: Always be the better person. Sometimes it's really hard not to stoop to the level of ignorance and stupidity, when it's staring you in the face. Don't lower yourself to the standards of someone, or should I say, some people. Put on a smile, be nice, and kill them with kindness. Even though it's killing you on the inside, you're driving them more nuts by confronting them. If someone wants to talk about you. Let them. Obviously, they think you're worth it. They aren't worth it. You're not wasting time talking about them. They don't do anything exciting with their lives for anything to talk about. Just laugh it off and let them do it.
