Day 159

January 9, 2010

Please! Let me tell you about my day! Ah geeze! My morning starts off a bit frantic! Lately, I've had a lot of things happen in quite a short amount of time, so my head has been spinning in all sorts of directions. So, I'm on the phone with my dad and grandma, back and forth for the start of my morning! Craziness!

I have a pair of really cute black boots I had to get fixed at Von Maur. My mom sent them to me, so I decide I want to wear them today. It's 9:30 a.m. and I'm walking to work, boppin' to my iPod as usual. I'm at 42nd and 5th (a super busy intersection at morning rush hour) when all of a sudden, my boots decide they're no longer made for walkin'! BAM! I biff it hard core! I literally face plant it in the middle of the intersection! Oh my God! My hands are on either side of my cheek, which is kissing the sidewalk, while my knee is twisted and lying on the ground. It's like slow motion...I knew I was falling, but couldn't do anything about it. I hear, "Oh my God! Are you okay?" I turn around and notice a tall, blonde, beautiful man smiling/laughing at me, asking if I need help. He would be gorgeous! "I'm fine, thank you." I'm not hurt. My pride, maybe. But my body is okay.

I have two more blocks until I get to work, and it felt like it took me ten years to get there. So humiliating. Then, I leave Better Homes and head to the restaurant. I have to request off some days for the future. I'm walking right by Radio City Music Hall...another big hot spot, when SLIP! There I go again! My iPod goes flying in the air and lands on the ground as my arms are wrapping around a little pole and my feet are sliding out underneath of me. Fantastic! "Are you okay?!" a man says. Again, I say, "Yes, I'm fine. Thank you." Really? Two times in one day? Please look at the damage to my knee below.

I get home to go on a date tonight. An actual, "I want to take you to dinner," date! Whew hew! A man who doesn't just want to take me out for drinks.  I meet him at a little Italian restaurant in the west village. It's a super cute place and the food is excellent. He even brought me flowers! Exciting, right? Wrong.

I just want to know why all of the men in this city just like to stare at me when they take me out? Aren't they interested in what I like to do? What I do for my career? Where I like to hang out? No, they don't care. They just like to stare and laugh at my jokes, that I don't think are that funny anyway! ;) I'm just randomly talking because you're not! I even ran out of things to say! And for those of you who know me, that's a pretty hard thing for me to accomplish. He's a super nice guy and it's not because he wasn't interested. He wanted to go out after dinner. Sir, I can't go out with you. We have nothing left to talk about! At least, I don't! ;)

It's funny though because after dinner, the owner comes up to our table and asks if we want dessert. We say yes and he goes, "Are we celebrating a birthday?"
"No."
"Are we celebrating an engagement?"
"No, just a nice evening out."
"Well, I can tell he loves you. You are a beautiful girl and he is such a nice young man."
Hahahaha! He is a sweet guy! Then, he walked away and it's awkward silence. ;) So, of course, I make a joke about it. What else am I suppose to do? You're just staring at me. It's frustrating.

We both have to take the same train home, so we start walking. We pass a Sports Illustrated party and decide we should have been invited! He saw the bus full of Sports Illustrated models, so I told him to go on the bus, I'll go inside and we can reconvene in an hour! ;) We saw the red carpet and everything. It was pretty cool.

Well, now I have one hundred and one things to do before tomorrow morning, so I have to go! I hope I made you laugh today with all of the craziness life presented me! Have a great Wednesday!

Note to self: Second guessing yourself is sometimes a bad thing. When you don't have time to second guess yourself and you just go for something, don't worry about it! It's happening for a reason, so why stress? Hop on and enjoy it! It could end up being the best decision you ever made! Sometimes you have to take leaps in life, without looking backwards or forwards. Just live for the moment. Make sure you're prepared; make sure you're confident; and make sure to stay relaxed. Again, you've been given an opportunity, so don't blow it!
