Day 60

November 5, 2009

It's day two on the internship today. Amazing! The Capital Grille--amazing! Work life is wonderful right now! I am tired of my wardrobe, though. So, as much as I don't want my birthday to be here in two weeks, I do, because you know what that means? Money! Which means...clothes! Yay!!!! I need to be more edgy! My style is more traditional and classic! I'm ready to push the style button and go more classicly, trendy! Only if dad would give me his credit card. Let's keep our fingers crossed! ;)

I hear a rather catchy pick-up line today. It goes: "You would be perfect for one of my friends! He is smart and handsome, just like me. ;) He only has two requirements for a girl 1.) She likes wine and 2.) She's a good kisser. I don't want to set him up with someone who doesn't fit, so we will probably need to go drink a lil' and make out for a little before I introduce you." Hahaha! Clever, huh? I think it's pretty funny!

Okay, so the weather here...too cold! It's getting closer to winter, which is making me quite upset! As you know, my blood is constantly set at like -25 degrees all the time anyway. Walking to and from work and home and out with friends is becoming less and less appealing. I'm considering hibernation for the winter.

At work, guess what I see? Two mullets! Yes! Just when I think I miss home...someone comes along and reminds me of my good 'ol Midwestern roots. Thank you to the gentlemen, dressed in suits, with two of the classiest mullets I have ever seen! I thought my mullet days were over. Never underestimate this city!

Good thing I get my news from Facebook. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of Fort Hood victims. This is what happens when you work from 10 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. You miss out on life's important information. What a tragedy! People are nuts!

Note to self: When you think of something to blog about, write it down. Your memory has a short attention span, so if you think of something funny, you better make a note because you know darn well you will not remember it later. It's irritating when you know you have funny stuff to tell, but you cannot remember what it is. Maybe you should just pay attention and learn to remember things. After all, you are a journalist. Isn't that your job? Goal one: Learn to pay more attention. Goal two: Learn how to focus. Goal three: Learn how to not be so scatter-brained. This three-step program should have me set for life!
