So, I wake up today, thinking it's going to be a great day! The sun is shining, the temperature is 80 degrees, I have my internship during the day, and a hot date tonight--how great is this? Well, I go down to get my usual cup of coffee and piece of fruit, complimentary of my building. There is no fruit--no problem. I'll go get a bagel.
On the walk to work, I try to find the best looking place for my delicious bagel. I pick a place, but am instantly getting bad vibes as I walk in. I only have five minutes to get to work, so I say heck with it. I ask for a whole-wheat bagel, with veggie cream cheese. I need to learn to sign language, or become multi-lingual because the idiot obviously does not understand me. He gives me plain cream cheese--gross! I don't like boring; I like exciting and different. Give me veggies in my cream cheese! Whatever...I'm late, so I don't want to mess with it.
The lady says, $1.90, so I hand her my card. She tells me there's a $5 minimum...okay, whatever--it's rediculous, right? So, I ask how much a cup of coffee is. "$1," she says. "But that's not going to be $5." Really? It's not? Because the last time I checked, 1+1=5. Man, I was off. I reply, "I know. I'm not done yet. How much are your cookies?" She says, "$1 a piece, but that won't put at $5 either." Hmm...so, I say sarcastically, because at this point, she is really ticking me off. "I know this, but I bet if I get more than one, it will equal $5, huh? How about 3? With everything, let me guess, it's going to equal $5.90 plus tax?" She does not like me, but I don't care. I know basic math--I'm not Albert Einstein, but she doesn't look like a walking text book either. Give me my food, so I can get out of here!
Good news! The girl at work I was telling you about; the one I don't like. She quit today! She e-mails my editor and says she can no longer fulfill her internship duties. I guess the copying and pasting, word for word, from major publications is too exhausting for her. Too bad all her hard work of clicking the mouse to do this is thrown out the window. She had such a bright future. ;)
I went on my first NYC date tonight. It was fun! I meet him at "Bar 9," in Hell's Kitchen. The atmosphere is chill with old couches, dim lighting, fringe curtains, and industrial-type lighting. The food and drinks are good too! I think we may be the youngest in the bar. Let me tell you, the guy is quite the looker. I walk up and he's wearing Seven Jeans and Lacoste polo--oh man, thank you Jesus! ;)
Guys are a little different on dates here, than back home--or maybe not. He is definately your man's man. There is a football game on, so he is completely interested in what I'm saying when it's commercials, but when the game is on, forget about it. Hmm...I don't know. Be into me, Mr. Greek God! Who cares about the football game? He does walk me home to ensure I am safe, so that was nice.
Note to self: Don't try and pull a skirt that is cinched at the bottom over your hips when you go to the bathroom. Take the time to unzip it. It will only cause the seams on the skirt to start tearing a bit. Then you are in trouble. Remember that hip size is always slightly larger than the size of your thigh. Then, when walking home, do not go an alternate route to avoid people noticing the almost complete rip, up the back of your skirt. It's better to be safe and have your cheeks playing peek-a-boo out of the back of your skirt, than getting lost in a sketchy neighborhood. To only then end up on a major traffic-route anyway. There goes the plan for that one.
