Day 22

September 28, 2009

Today is move-in day! The day everything finally comes together! Everything goes smoothly and rather quickly! Other than the time I get whacked in the head with the side of the chair, everything is great!

Moving takes a lot out of you, so we're hungry! I take them to the home-style restaurant, Good 'n Plenty, I told you about a few days ago--it was their favorite meal of the trip. Minus dad's Pinkberry, which he had another one tonight! The lady even gives him extra berry topping for free! Apparently, his wide-eyed, dreamy look gave away his love for the fro-yo!

Believe it or not, the shower curtain is the most exciting thing my parents could have brought me! No more huddling in the corner for a shower--more like a sponge bath! And I have a bed to sleep in! No more blow-up! Now, if only the snoring would stop...I could actually get a good night's rest. It's really funny because when one of them stops snoring, the other one picks off where they leave off. That's true love when you can use telepathy in your sleep! I'm sure impressed--hopefully someday my husband and I can do something like this. Only not about snoring...maybe cleaning? Yeah, ladies, I laughed too! ;)

We see a company sign literally a half block down from my apartment that reads, "Iowa Sports." Who would have thought?! Coincidence? I think so. Check out their website, here. And...we got a picture!

My parents come into my work to look around and get a feel for what I do. Planet Hollywood has a great staff with a fun atmosphere. The energy is great, so much so that my parents are extremely impressed! You can also see my lovely uniform!

I have a job interview tomorrow! So, I need to go to bed! Wish me luck! It sounds like a great opportunity!

Note to self: You can't help what Mother Nature brings you, so knock off the complaining! Women who complain about hot flashes should spend a day in someone else's body! Between a job that keeps their air conditioning on even though it's only 50 degrees out; and a family who sleeps with the window open, even though it's only 50 degrees out, you get really excited and are anticipating the idea of random heat waves throughout your whole body! You can only hope they aren't flashes, but more like a disco inferno!
