Day 173

February 23, 2010

Can I just tell you the last week or so of my life has been the most up-in-the-air, uncontrolled, complicated mess I've EVER been in?? It's nuts! I'm nuts! I am one who is constantly in control of my life--I know what I want, where I want to be, what I want to do. For once in my life...I have no idea! And it's driving me crazy! I just want to snap my fingers and have everything come together.

So, at Better Homes today, my editor comes back from this event from Goody hair products. They have a new bobby pin coming out that is way cool! I know, it sounds stupid, but I love doing different things with my hair, so it's awesome! It's in the shape of a spiral, and you twist it into your hair. You only need one! It's amazing! I made a bun with one bobby pin! Keep your eye out for them! ;)

Check out this awesome magazine one of my editor's told me about. It's www.loonymag.com. Click around. It's a great interactive website that links to products' sites. It's fun!

So, once again, it's raining. Not complaining because it could be snow. And snow today would have been disastrous for me. I have an appointment today at 4 p.m. I'm all dressed up. Skirt, heels, etc. Since it's raining, I take a cab there. No biggie. I didn't think ahead to the fact that after I get out of my appointment, it's going to be rush hour. My point: NO CABS. Damn. So, I start walking. I stop. Try to hail a cab. Nothing. I walk. Stop and try to catch a cab. Nothing. I do this for about ten minutes. As you know by now, umbrellas in this city just don't last. The wind is ferocious. My umbrella is turning inside out and my hair looks like a rat's nest. Needless to say...I have to walk ALL the way home! My legs are freezing, my feet are killing me, and my hair is matted to my head. Yay for the rain! ;)

Oh yeah. A bus driver and I got in a fight today. I started to cross the street, when he starts honking at me. No, sir. You don't honk at me. So, I politely turn around and yell, "Shut-up!" He proceeds to follow with words that aren't in English, so I continue walking. Excuse me, Abdul. I may respond to your outlandish blah, blah, blah that I heard. But I can't understand you! Are you speaking in tongue? Is it Spanish? Is it some sort of voodoo? Who knows!! All I know is, I got a kick out of it! ;)

So, tonight I'm watching a series run of The Office. This show is hysterical! I love people with dry senses of humor and this show is full of it!

Note to self: I'm a huge sap when it comes to "motivational" or "inspirational" emails. I got an email today that fits quite nicely! I'm only going to give you some of the lines. Enjoy! Have a happy hump day!

I BELIEVE THAT...

Just because two people argue, that doesn't mean they don't love each other. And just because they don't argue, that doesn't mean they do love each other.

Sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

True friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.

You can keep going long after you think you can't.

Either you control your attitude or it controls you.

Heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.

Maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had, and what you've learned from them...and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.

Our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.

You shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life forever.

Your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't even know you.

Credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.
