April 19 - April 20, 2010
You know those days and moments that happen in life, where you slap your palm onto your forehead, and just shake your head back and forth? The last couple of days has been like this for me. I tell ya' what. People are just dumb. I understand everyone has their "stupid" moments and "blonde" moments, if you will. But come on. I don't deal well with shear stupidity. I can't talk to people like this. I know I sound snotty, but it is what it is.
I've been talking with people on the phone from Target. Simply asking if they have certain products in stock. One: multiple people didn't understand when I said, "I'm looking for easter grass." Please, if you're reading this, tell me you know what I'm talking about. Even when I said, "You know. The plastic grass people put in kids' easter baskets?" Nope. I got a silence on the other end of the phone.
Then, today, I spoke with someone in the home goods department. I say, "Do you have any gold tassels in stock?" Now, you're in the home department. What's the first thing you think of? Curtain tassels. Nope. Even when I said, "Tassels. Like what you tie your curtains back with?" Nada. I wanted to jump through the phone and slap the woman with common sense. Not even common sense. Just normal intelligence. I'm pretty sure it was the same lady that I talked to about the grass.
I go to Office Depot, where everyone working is over the age of 80, I swear. Okay, not that old, but might as well have been. I returned a product for work, and the lady needed my license. No problem. I give it to her, and she says, partly in Spanish, "Oh, your driver's license has letters in it."
Me: Just stare. "Yea..."
Her: "Do you have another license?"
Me: Blank stare. Did you really just ask me that? "Um...no. I don't."
I'm sorry lady, but typically, the government only issues one license per person. I could be wrong, but that's how I always thought things worked.
The weather is beautiful here! Oh my goodness! I fall in love over and over again, everyday! I walked out of Bed, Bath & Beyond this afternoon, and the parking lot is lined with palm trees. I couldn't believe it! Again. I though, I can't believe I live here and I feel like I'm home.
I haven't been sleeping well the last couple of days, because as we all know, I'm afraid of my own shadow! Therefore, I have been sleeping on my couch, like I told you I would. And I'm too tall for the couch, so it's not comfortable. I woke up this morning around 3:30 and had it. I no longer cared if someone broke in. I was so tired, so I tromped upstairs and passed out in my brand new, comfy bed!
Tonight, I'm actually going to sleep upstairs all night long, like a big girl! I'm taking the last book of the Twilight series and calling it a night!
Now that I have cable and am loving being back in reality, I'm watching "Glee." Okay. I'm obsessed! Some of the actors are way corny, but it's so much fun! I'm hooked! And HGTV?! Oh yes! And Keeping Up With the Kardashians! And E! True Hollywood Story! Basically E! Entertainment as a whole. It's great not being as poor! On a sad note. The Cavy doesn't fit in. I can't remember if I already told you this, but she doesn't. She's a trooper! She made it all the way from Iowa and still runs great! Who cares what she looks like! She gets me around, and I have no car payment!
Note to self: Walk with confidence, not arrogance. There's a huge difference. Arrogance is the most unattractive quality in a person. Confidence; however, is the most attractive quality in a person. Being confident exudes positive energy, a certain sexiness to you, and an overall genuine feeling. Even when you find it hard not to be arrogant, considering the people who surround you, don't go there. Being arrogant will bring you bad karma. Show your intelligence and power, and if it's not good enough, than these people don't deserve you. Your confidence will take you to bigger and better places.
