The end of March. Holy cow! Life goes by way too fast! Today was a pretty productive day. I went apartment hunting. The real estate agent that worked with me was really nice. I told her my price range and she showed me what was available. Unless I want to live in Little Havana, I need to up my budget. First off, blonde women don't do well around the hispanics. They love us! When you're cat calling me while I'm looking at the unit, makes me really not want to move in!
I did find one that I really liked! It's a two bedroom, two bath, two story townhouse! Really nice and cozy! So, I'm leaning towards that one, but am going to Delray Beach tomorrow to look at more! I hope I find something soon!
I would like to just tell you that my dad's GPS system likes to take me through neighborhoods, cops won't even go in! Okay, that's a bit dramatic, but seriously. Why does it feel the need to take me in a complete circle, when I could have been there in two seconds by simply turning left. Apparently, I must have hit the, "please take me the scenic route" button!
After the apartment hunting is over, I stop by Bruegger's Bagel for lunch. I get the chicken salad sandwich, (of course), which is amazing! As I'm waiting, a rather attractive man is waiting for his salad. He stays to eat. When the bagel guy asks me if this is for here or to go, I seriously contemplate staying. Maybe in the hopes that Mr. Salad will come and talk to me. I had a ton I had to do when I got back to the house, and I didn't really have time to stay. So, sadly, I left. I know! Now I'm kicking myself! I could have taken fifteen minutes out of my life!
Oh well! I figured I just moved here and I need to focus on more important things. Psh! It sucks being so responsible sometimes! Then, as I'm driving, there are people everywhere in bathing suits! I'm so jealous! I want to be at the beach today! I catch myself checking out these two guys! Fantastic bodies, I can't even tell you! Made me feel like a fatty! I need to get my booty into serious shape--right now! The closer I get, the more I realize, Hmm...they may or may not be high school students! Eek! Shoot! If you're 18, call me! ;) Just kidding!
The friend I made that is also staying at my grandma's friend's house and I made dinner. That sentence is one jumbled mess, but whatever! She made shrimp stir-fry and I made my dad's fabulous potatoes! It was amazing! Problem: I limited my portions due to the fact that I'm in bikini world now, and I'm starving!! I want to eat so bad! But I'm not going to! I ate a healthy amount, so I'm cutting myself off for the rest of the night! I figure the hunger pains will eventually go away when my body gets used to the idea of fewer food intake!
Note to self: Take apartment hunting into your own hands! Don't rely on chotchy apartment guides! They are only tricking you into getting a more expensive apartment! You're a control freak anyway! Just do it yourself, like you have to do everything else in your life and find your own apartment! It may take more time, but at least this way, you know you're not getting screwed! Geesh! Realtors! I'll be my own realtor...maybe! ;)
I love sweets! Sweet treats, sweet deals and sweet ideas for decorating is what I enjoy the most. Check out my ideas for great parties with friends, sugary recipes and great deals I have found to create a fresh and fun home!

Day 2
September 8, 2009
I have this day completely dedicated to apartment hunting. My broker is taking me to seven apartments--who would have thought for what you pay, you get a place the size of a closet. One is so gross; five are nice, and one is amazing. What to do--go off price, convenience, or location? So many factors: safety, cost, laundry, doorman. I'll figure it out. It also helps to have four fabulous women helping me out.
Let's start the morning with ordering pancakes, followed by my walk to the broker's office where I have my first official "trip over my own two feet" incident. One of hundreds, I'm sure. For lunch, it's time to order sushi.
When looking for a Bank of America, I asked for directions and walked to four different locations, only one of which was an actual Bank of America. Not a good idea to ask directions from those who do not speak very good English. What happened to the several that are promised to me when I signed up for the account? Time to switch to Chase or CitiBank. Much more convenient.
I didn't mind getting lost because I finally got to see the "Naked Cowboy" everyone always raves over. In his tighty whities, cowboy boots, and hat, he strums away on his guitar in the middle of Times Square. I come home to order in MORE food. I'm quickly becoming a New Yorker. Greek food, 90210, and Melrose Place makes for a great evening--the calm before the storm. Need to get rest for my first day at my internship!
Note to self: People in New York City do NOT care about your personal life. When they ask you a question, do not go on and on about your life. They are not interested. Give a quick, simple answer--that's all their looking for. Spit out your answer and move on.
